Humidity and salt spray in Hawaii
Aloha guys!
I'm looking into set ups for windshield repair to compliment my body and paint and PDR business's. I'm semi retired living on the island of Kauai and we have major problems getting any service repairs of any type here soooo back to work I go... Lots of rain and some fair amount of humidity... Looks like I want to go with the Delta kit and maybe a moisture remover. We have a lot of problems with glass stains here caused by salts. Will this become a major contamination issue? If so any way to clean or neutalize the salts?? What is the best setup for the conditions I mentioned. I will need training tapes and manual as I won't be flying to the mainland for schooling...
Any help is appreciated... Mahalo Jim Boulton Princeville Hanalei ,Kauai, Hawaii

I wouldn't expect the salt/rain issue to be a problem, but I do live 1000 miles form the nearest saltwater.
So you should not have to worry about cleaning the breaks, etc... putting any cleaners, etc into the damage is a no-no.
The dry-star is a good idea for you. It rains about every afternoon there, right? Practice with it on a scrap w/s to get the feel for how it works.
I'm sure Jeff is proud of me.

Jim,
Delta's video and manual can provide you with the necessary info. to effectively complete repairs. Attending a training session could certainly "fast-track" you, but if you practice, practice and practice, and realize that you can call Delta (in the middle of a repair) and get live help, you shouldn't suffer.
Of course, if you are willing to spring for air-fare, room and board, I could suffer with spending a week or two out there and would gladly impart with all that I have learned;)

Hey! Thanks for the quick response!!
I was just on E-Bay and someone is selling a GlasMech GM-3000 kit for 550.00... Doesn't look like he's including the video and manual though and I won't pick up a kit without one!!
Glad to hear that the salt issue shouldn't be a problem.....
I had sent messages to six guys in E-Bay and the response to that injector system was varied as is life! Figure if it looks like crap.. Why step in it....

I was looking at what looks to be a 'good deal' on e-bay... Guy selling a GM 3000 sys. for 550.00
I checked out the web site gor GM and it just doan look user friendly brae!
I probably won't be doing volume repairs as izzz a small island and no middle income people here... You are either rich and a movie star or poor sumbitch... The law here is no breaks in de glass or no pass vehicle inspection.
I was supposed to be retired and living the good life with lots of half naked woman running around but..... To many people with car problems and no one to turn to with out mortgaging home....
Nothing is made here on island and everything is shipped here.. Naturally everyone who touches item adds a weeee little to the shipping costs.....
No can get anyone to ship glass here so puts damper on windshield replacement.... So I knock out the dents. fix de collisions, open de locked doors. and rebuild de saxophones.... now maybe I fix de rock chips....
