I use the Glass Technology Repair systems. I hve the 20-20 and the VP-5000. For most repairs, I prefer the 20-20, since it is lighter weight, takes up less space and more portable. But with either one, I do very good repairs. This is not just because of the sysems, though. I believe the resin I use also make a difference. I have said before, though, and I will say again, I chose GT because I live close enough to drive to their facility and take their training. They have excellent tech support, even if you arent a customer of theirs. If I had lived closer to any number of other windshield repair suppliers, chances are good that I might have wound up with one of those systems instead. When you are looking at the better systems, it really boils down to personal preferrence, as to which system you decide on. I would, however, avoid any of the systems that have manual pumps... one looks like the pump-sprayer-plunger type thing that you used to see on those old-fashioned bug sprayers. Another one is a kind of hand gripper thing that requires a lot of hand strength to us... main concern with that might be repetitive motion stress injury. If you are looking for a system, either to replace what you have, or because you are just starting out, contact ALL the companies, and tell them you want them to send you ALL their available information, including video tapes showing their equipment actually in use. They will also send you free samples of their resins, which, eveni f you dont like a particular brand, it is still good for practicing. (One company evenn sends candy with each order...yumm). Anyway, view all those tapes a number of times, then start a process of elimination until you are down to the last couple of systems that you would want to use. Choose one of them.

GT Repair System
GT has a good system and that is what I started with. After I learned to do this job properly decided to trade it in for a Delta B300. I like it better and have not asked Jeff for my GT back
Took one from the big guys.....
Thank you for the feed back. I am using Optikleer kit and I believe the company is out of business so I looking for a different system.
I am looking at the GT 20/20 system. I am used to doing long crack by sliding the injector along the crack. Is it easy to do this with the 20/20 system? It does not have the "screw-down plunger type" like the optikleer system which I think might be easier to do long crack.

Glass Technology teaches the capillary method of crack filling, which does not require an injector, only crack jacks. The principal is this: drilll and pop a mini-bull's eye where the crack ends. Then, beginning at the lower end of the crack (even seeminly vertical cracks do have a lower end), apply crack resin to the crack and lay down curing tape as you go. The resin will literally be sucked up the crack. Cure the crack, then fill the bulls eye using the injector. Fill the source of the crack (the original rock chip). When the curing is completed, remove the crack jacks. Scrape with a new razor blade. Polish the pit and the bullseye drill. No need to polish the crack. I have never used crack injectors, so I dont know how well they work, but I do wonder about how much the glass is flexed during the repair on account of sliding the injector, and doesnt this flexing adversly affect the repair you are attempting to make?
I'm trying to decide what kit to get? This is confusing, trying to tell which is the one to go with or not! I need to learn quickly and to do great repairs. I've looked into Delta;Glass mech.; and Glass Tech; repair systems. I'm torn between Delta's car windshield repair kit and Glass Tech... Sugestions Please! Help!!!
