Wow, stopped by a local glass shop to introduce myself. I had just come from the county clerk for my DBA license.
I said I was just getting into the business and asked if I could refer customers to them who had damage that I could not repair. They said yea, they needed someone to refer just repairs to. I mentioned that I would not be ready till next week, but when I got home, there was already a guy calling me about a repair
I explained that I would not be able to help him till I get back from training, so I said I would fix it free when I get back. I didn't want to send him to somone else, and figured I would build some good customer relations. making progress
I was just going to post about this, the windshield company who gave me my practice glass just gave me their repair work. I referred a couple of replacements to them and that must have made them think about it, they hate doing repairs. Being a newbie I did insist on going to their shop and doing a couple of repairs just to be sure they would be happy with the results.
I dont think you will have any problem making money in SA. I just go there to goof off and I get calls from the lettering on my vehilce. Matter of fact my friends even like it because after 25 mins of work , I normally treat them to food and beer. They always ask what insurance companies pay me and , I just say they all pay different and leave it at that.
A couple of weeks ago I got my practice glass from a replacement shop and right there above the old windhsields on the work bench was a rather large repair kit. Looked like one of those with an elaborate pressure pump. I was still thinking of asking them about referal swapping until I saw that so I just kept my mouth shut about repairs. Do you guys think it would be worth it to ask? Im pretty sure the majority of their business is replacments so maybe they dont like doing repairs.
