getting started

Hello, I am an okc firefighter and I am interested in starting windshield repair on my spare time. Any useful comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the forums!

I would take a look through the forum, see what people have to say about windshield repair that are already doing it. Reading through posts is a good way to find out what to watch out for, and what to look for.

Also, do searches on the internet for manufacturers. You should be able to find them all fairly quickly. Check out what we all have to offer. Most will offer to send you information, and I would take them up on it. Read through all the info, and after narrowing down your list of companies, call them up to see what kind of customer service they provide. Ask them as many questions as you want, the more the better. Generally, if the customer service is bad before you buy, it will be REALLY bad after you buy. And these are the same people that you will need to call for technical support.

I'm sure others have tips, so i'll step aside!

Hi Jeff,I started doing WSR, part-time 4 months ago.For me it has been great.I strive to do the best possible job.I had a goal of $500 a month and have done right at $700.I picked up five good used car dealers(there are a few) who are very impressed with my work. My regular job is a Locksmith in a small town ,so I had plenty of contacts,and this helped.I purchased a Delta kit and have been very pleased with the kit and the service.Get a kit,practice,read all you can,be careful,take your time,and GO FOR IT.
