My 2 Cents...

What "liquid detergent" can I buy at the supermarket or drug store to replace the suction cup gel(suction cup lubricant).

suction cup gel

I use glycerin, not liquid detergent. Available at the drug store. It is cheap and cleans up real fast with water. I suspect it might be what some of the suppliers sell as suction cup gel.

I simply spray my cup with Windex if my bridge is going to remain in a "fixed" location. If I need to slide my bridge, for example on a crack, I use personal lubricant from walmart or any drug store.

Did you say you use your personal lubricant for the sliding bridges :) , or a personal lubricant like KY jelly.

Just kidding. ;) Sorry have to get my mind out of the gutter again..

I use a few drops of Dawn soap and top off with water in a small spray bottle for my suction cups and also for cleaning up.

I feel the windex tends to dry up to fast being that it has alcahal. The dawn mix stays on the W/S a lot longer for cleaning up that sworms of bugs. Give it a blast of dawn mix and wipe down in 10 seconds. And it is safe on after market tinting if you clean the inside of the Windows for PR.

I use the L/R cups for mounting....(since your mind is in the gutter GT-I mean attaching) my bridge. I'm not sure which you are using but I've had no problem with the windex.I've been using the same cups for a while now.

I started using Dawn 10 years ago after talking with the tint guys and they are the ones that told me if you use windex and or most other glass cleaners for a long peroid of time it WILL turn the tint purple.. Just for my customers sake I use this mix because the tint shops use it to apply the tint also..
Today I had one of my customers ask what I use to clean with because it was full of bugs and I had it cleaned if just a few swips. and they were cleaning the other side with there glass cleaner and could not clean up as fast as I had it done. They said they are changing over for that one reason..

Just my input.

For anyone new, make sure you do not lubricate vacuum cups.
