Did a nasty star break yesterday on an Audi A4-the windshield was super hot and it was a windy Nebraska day. At a loss of how to cool the glass and keep it cool, I took my Delta hood protector and covered the windshield. It was stiff, flat, and heavy enough to remain in place and large enough to tuck in the door openings and under the wiper arms. I lifted the edge and put my bridge under the cover (UV protection) The thick hood cover insulated the glass from the heat and worked great. The lady that owned the car asked me if that was my special windshield cooler   "Absolutely" I said we've got special tools for all weather conditions. 8) Bob

would it not have been safer and easier just to leave the engine running with the aircon on. Its what I do over here but then again we only get about 20 days a year when extreme heat is a problem

I use a mechanics fender cover, best 8 bucks I ever spent.

I also use a fender cover & attach to windshield using suction cups mounted on large clips. Both items are from wally world. I used an xacto knife to remove the two rows of stitching,a little solvent took the logo right off. Bob's set up would look a lot more professional & cover the entire windshield. Jim

Hi Jim, I actually bought the deltakits blank (no logo) hood protector-$24. and had the sign shop make me up some vinyl lettering " Paintless Plus Windshield Repair"- $10. Kind of acts like a banner at almost 6 feet long. I like the suction cup idea-going to wally world today. Thanks, Bob
