I'm new to the business and I getting set up to be able to bill the insurance companies. By reading the other topics, it sounds like I need to be set up with Lynx and Safelite. Is that true? And what are the differences between them?
Thank you.

Go through the archives and old posts. You will find everything you are looking for regarding the networks.
LYNX represents a bunch of insurance companies and Safelite represents most everyone else. The remaining few are on some little networks and some are not on a network at all.
Realworld on the job I am finding about 18 popular insurance companies out there that people are using and most if not all are covered by LYNX and Safelite.

jroske,
There's no charge to joining these networks but you will be charged up to a $7.50 fee per invoice if your submitting them by fax or mail. Check out previous postings to align yourself with a billing provider who handle these through EDI. Save yourself some money by using one of these services. It's extra homework for you but well worth it!
