I have seen several questions asked over the past months pertaining to liability insurance and their premiums. When I started the business, I got hooked up with a local agent in my home town who provided liability insurance to get me started. Boy was this a rip off !! This week I finally done what I should have done at first and that was to contact RLI and get a referral agency in my home state. I ended up with a million dollar coverage for $211.00 per year. Every other agency that I have contacted wanted anywhere from $500.00 to $1000.00 per year. I would recommend for everyone that has not already done so, to give RLI a call (1-800-526-1754) and inquire as to what it will cost. My understanding is that each state rates are possibly different. Jeff, do you know how this works from state to state. Good luck..

Rates depend on the area, definitely, but the range is typically $150-$225/year for $500K coverage...

My friend like you i felt that it would be better to give business to my local hometown agents, after getting a dozen quote's at $1000.00 to as much as $1500.00 i started looking through this forum for info and with all the help i recived had to end up doing biz with RLI , not that that's a bad thing, I just find it amazing that the local agents are so lame, is it that they don't make enough comission or what ? not one ever said any thing about RLI somehow i have a hard time beliveing that they don't know of them. A word for all those out there looking for INS. don't waste time like i have just hook up with an RLI agent near you, you will find the #"s on the search area of this forum, Good Luck To All
