Today I did a combination repair on a 1991 suburban. When preparing to cure, I noticed a large ring from the bridge's suction cup. It looks like air pockets in between the laminate and glass in the shape of the suction cup.
What causes this? How can I avoid this? I doubt this is correctable because it looks the same as in the video where they tell you not to
attempt a repair where delamination occurs.
thanks in advance

Are you sure you didnt get a fat DAISY?
I could see if you had some chemical on the suction cup it might mark the glass but cant imagine a delamination from the cup?

Like GlassStarz, I can not understand how a suction cup from a bridge would cause a delam on your windshield
The cup would have had to been strong enough to flex the glass away from the lamanation layer, which would be some mighty strong suction
I am anxious to hear what some of the old timers in the business have to offer on this one

Sounds like there was a closed leg by your suction cup and when you attached it the leg ran and followed the cup. Or there was a weak spot where you put the bridge. Did you try to drill & fill it? What's a Fat Daisy?
Re: Curing Under Pressure Poping Bulls Eye
definitely wasn't a daisy and no leg ran. Is it possible to put too much suction? I wish I had taken a picture. I think the windshield had a weak spot in it. it was no big deal to the customer. I called Delta and they said they too had never heard of this happening. Hope this never happens again.
