Today is the one year aniversary of the death of my son Allen (17) we planned to be in buisness together full time next year
Dont let work get you so busy that you lose time with your family its valuble and cant be replaced when its gone. I went into this work so I could spend more time with my 2 sons after working 20+ yrs in auto sales working long and odd hours. And looking back that last year I spent alot more time with them and this job allowed me to work with him and now his brother
Everyone tomorrow take off work early take your kid fishing or to a ball game you cant count on the opportunity being there again.

God bless you man. I took the bull by the horns and got into this business for many of the same reasons. For 16 years I have made excuses about why I couldn't be where I needed to be because I was always working for someone else. Never again. Time is our most precious resource and can never be taken for granted.

GlassStarz, My heart goes out to you. I reciprocate Scratchy's comments. God Bless you and your Family. I too, after 22 yrs in the military and over 1000 days away from home, started this business to spend more time with my family. My children are 4 and 2, and If I can keep this up, They will always know me as being home and available.

Its nice to see that others started this line of work because of family. I also fall into that catagory. 20 years of focusing always on work cost me dearly, now life and my 3 boys are my focus. My thoughts are with you.

I've seen alot of families in my area who never spend time with their kids. They're more into their business and never was home to hang out. Alot of these kids grew up in a bad way.

It's very true to talk to your kids and hang out with them. This will lead to a very healthy relationship and you will earn your trust with your kids.

GlassStarz...my deepest condolences goes out to you and your family. And also, God bless you and your family, and also all who have suffered from the loss of loved ones.

I agree totally that family is extremely important. One of the reasons I became interested in windshield repair was because I was employed full time, but when my mom decided to come to live with us, I knew I would need to be in better control of my schedule in order to accomodate her needs. This was a true God-send for me, because I could schedule work and spend time with Mom too. Often, I would take her with me and she really loved getting out and meeting people in her adopted commumity. Mom is not with us any longer, but the times we shared together, going places where I did repairs while she visited with the customers, are far more precious to me than words can tell. GlassStarz, please accept my heartfelt condolances. I know you miss your son, but I am glad that losing him didnt dampen your enthusiasm for this business. God bless and comfort you.

GlassStarz,

My heart goes out to you. I cannot begin to imagine what it must be like to lose a child.

Your post might open others eyes about the importance of spending time with family. We all are guilty of sometimes taking family for granted and not spending the time together we should.

Children are a blessing. I have watched my two kids become a young man and a young woman. Even though I spend a great deal of time with them, I sometimes cannot believe how fast they grow up.

You and your family will be in our prayers.

GlassStarz, Know that you and your family are in my prayers and thoughts. You hit the nail on the head when you and other stated how important it is to spend time with your family. I let my job of over 20 years take me away from my two sons and wife. This is precious time that can never be captured again. That is why I spend as much time with them as well as my new grand children as possible. Life is short; live every minute as if today may be the last! Only God knows....
