I am sure everyone has heard of the DIY Do It yourself Network.
Check out this link and see if it sends chills down your spine as it did to me.
May I add that EVERYONE should send an e-mail asking to have this removed IMMEDIATELY!!

Re: DIY W/S repair advice
Unfortunatly we see this kind of BS all the time. People just don't seem to be that smart anymore. I can understand (yet don't agree with it) that people want to be do it yourself people. However it seems that commen sence has went out the window. I want to know what special drug the person was smoking that said lets put it on the inside of the windshield. I don't know maybe it was crack they where smoking.

Re: DIY W/S repair advice
You are always going to have people trying to do things themselves no matter what it is that needs fixing.
I'm sure there are a great deal of people buying the "DIY" windshield repair kits at stores everyday.
Plumbers, electricians, car repair technicians, etc. have been dealing with "DIY'ers" forever.
Sure, it's a nuisance to say the least, but I wouldn't worry about it. But, there are enough people out there that are not "DIY" type people or who recognize that it would be better to have a trained professional do the repair.
And when you add the fact that most people have full-coverage insurance that covers the repair, it's a no-brainer for most people.
Just focus on doing good repairs, offering great customer service and follow up, and market/promote your business and you'll stay busy.

Re: DIY W/S repair advice
Every once in a while I get a call from someone who had botched a 'DYI' job, expecting that I can do some kind of magic and make it all better. Sometimes I can, but I tell them right up front that it will cost them more than my usual rate because of the extra time and specific know-how involved, and that under no circumstances will I guarantee it when I am finished, because as a matter of principal I dont guarantee reworks except if the original work was mine. If I think they have been sufficiently humbled, I give them a properly filled out receipt and tell them to submit it to their insurance for refund.

Obviously the so called D.I.Y. auto EXPERT isnt that much of an expert, maybe she doesnt even own a car hahahhaaaaaa.
Can you imagine checking your windshield every few months to see if you need to reapply nail polish... and what about all the wipers you would wear out...
Wait till that windshield cracks out, Got any advice on fixing that for pennies?
Sounds like one of those false economy types that keeps adding oil instead of repairing it right... CRAZY!!!
AUTO EXPERT....... Hahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa
Ten years ago we used to have a WSR tech around here that would fix chips with Silicone caulking at $25 per chip... and we think weve seen it all...
