I have a nice new...ish Truck. My problem is I do alot of freeway driving and where I live that means lots of pitting.

I have tried to find out what to do about this but I am having no luck so I saw this forum and thought what the heck, ask the guys that deal with windshields for a living.

Finaly on to my Question. :eusa_clap What is a person to do about a whole windscreen of small pitts. I found a guy who would put a new one in for $175. That is not a bad deal but I don't want any leaks. Can I polish these pits out or is there something I can put in them to fix the problem. I am not against paying someone to do this I just want it done.

Thank in advance.

So I take it none of you know how to fix this problem.

Well thanks for the attempt any way.

Have a happy holiday.

PS. I'll be sure to be extra nice the next time some one approaches me at the car wash trying to help me out with a window fix.

PPS. 15 people look at a problem and not one of them has an answer. Yes or no! I think I might have stumbled onto something that needs studying maybe I can get a goverment grant.

The best answer in my opinion is to replace the windshield. The pits could be filled and it would look good for a couple of weeks. Then the resin would start to shrink or pop o ut simply because it doesn't have enough to adhere to.

Hugh,

Questions about your shield? Are any off these pits effecting your driving vision? If not just leave the shield in for now. Believe me, as much driving and hits your getting it won't be long before you get more than just a pit. That's when you should call one of us! Yes we can clean and fill pits. Will it look like a new shield? No it won't. $175 is a fair price for replacement if that's what makes you happy. I guess if you do a lot of driving....you should look at pits no differently than having bugs splattered all over your windshield. Actually, I'd prefer the pits over the bugs!
