Guitardood,

You seem to already have all the answers why not just go for it. You have countered any negatives anybody has posted. We do not use a plotter it is just as easy to cut from the glass a patterns. The plotter does not make the film fit the glass, you have to shrink it to do this. The plotter can cut the shape only. As for sun all year round, we have had overcast cloudy days and rain for the last 4 months. The tinting business in most parts of the world is very seasonal.

Give it a go and prove us all wrong.

I've had many years in the Tinting business. I would say that its an excellent year round business to be in. Sure it may slow down in the winter but theres still plenty of business.

Its certainly not an easy skill to learn either. Like WSR, you should get some type of training and tons, i mean tons of practice.

If I were to reccommend any add-on business, this would be it. The equipment required is relatively inexpensive. But again, learning the trade is the only draw-back and will take some time to master before I would even think of working on a customers vehicle.

Just me 2 cents!

I merely forgot to add the profit potential in this business. Depending on the job you can spend an average of $15-$30 in materials and charge(atleast in my area) $150-$300. Typically, a good tinter can get the job done in 1-2 hours.

There are many different things like tinting that you can add on either way the more you can offer the more likely it is that you get an acount. Myself as most know I went with paint and scratch repair it solidified my customer base and incresed my profits 10x figure out what is missing in your area and add it be it tinting, interior repair or PDR it cant hurt
