Thanks for volunteering me Rowdy! Although I like your enthusiasm and your way of thinking, I have tried a number of times over the years to organize repair technicians to raise money for charities, and have also sponsored free windshield repair events to bring industry awareness to the windshield repair industry, but have found it very difficult to get windshield repair technicians interested. I also support the NGA and the NWRA which still think are our best options for organizing efforts that will benefit the industry, but every time I try to get others interested I get an ear full of negativity. I have therefore come to the conclusion that I am not that effective of a communicator, and I have a very different way of looking at things than most people.
As for members of this forum getting together at an industry event, I think that is a great idea. We often see several forum members at the Mobile Tech Expo, but rarely do we see them at any other industry events. Out of the 1000+ legitimate members on the windshield repair forum you would think we could get 25, 50, or maybe even 100 to show up, but so far that has not been the case. Maybe we just need someone with a great deal of energy, enthusiasm, and optimism to get us all fired up. Hey, that sounds like you!
I plan to be at the NWRA conference this year, and hope to see SGT compete in the Windshield Repair Olympics. It would be great if we had some other forum members there to support SGT, but I'm not holding my breath.
Regardless of what other windshield repair technicians do, or do not do, your enthusiasm will take you a long way in this business.

I certainly understand how difficult it is to get everyone on the same page, but I'll bet there is at least 5 of us that will do it. Start off with a few, see how it goes, see how much advertisement benefit there is (not that it's the most important, but might as well get some), and go from there. Regardless, I will pick a couple of charities a year and do some windshields for them. And again Brent, we all thank you for donating the resin we will use in these charity events and for coordinating the whole thing. (smiley face goes here).

Its British/American humor. Watch Benny Hill and you will understand.

Dont prostitutes drive cars......cars have windshields.....rock hits windshield......call a windshield repair person. There's always a nexus to windshield repair, just use your imagination.Mr Bill;31276 wrote:What does that have to do with windshield repair?
