Quick Question on billing
clear repairs
Brian, from S.G.T I was on your web site awesome is all I can say. Great job. My question is should I call on the insurance jobs, or should it be the customers that call their insurance companies? I seen that you say their is alot of, as you call it, steering in this area. I really want the jobs I don`t want to lose them to some backdoor tatics. Any help will be appreciated.
Quick Question on billing
What is the web address that you are refering to as "Awesome" for those of us who don't know about it? I would certainly like to check it out.
Website?
Whenever possible, I initiate the call for the client. I have found that they (the clients) quickly lose control of the situation and I lose the job, especially when they are handed off to a network (all the networks have their own glass shops and repair techs, so naturally they want the work to go to them...we only get the crumbs). So I tell the client that I have the direct number to the glass claims and as part of my committment to service, I will make the call. (Call it a "WOW" factor...one of those extra things the client doesnt expect). I seldom tell the client that the real reason is that if I dont make the call I might not get the work. Since most clients seem uncomfortable dealing with the insurance companies, and many are even skeptical that they will even pay for the repair, they are more than happy to have me take that burden off them. There are the ones that just have to get in there and make the call themselves and muddle around, but most are glad to have someone else do it for them.
re:insurance
He's refering to Brian or bfenne's web site at www.safeglasstechnologies.com/ and it is good, has a lot of information on it.
We initiate as many of the calls ourselves and the first thing we say is that their customer has chosen us to have their glass repaired. This avoids most any atempt to steer, but some still try. It is not illegal in the state I am in.
Good luck

Re: Quick Question on billing
YOUR SITE IS GREAT!! VERY THOUROUGH, NICE JOB.WHAT WOULD THE COST BE TO BUILD ONE OF THAT NATURE? SORRY IF I AM A LITTLE FORWARD BUT I WOULD LIKE TO GET MY W.S. UP SOON THANKS BRIAN.
Re:NICE WEB SITE BRIAN
Hello All,
I would like to say thank you for all the nice comments on the website.
First, I would like to reply to the original post. What I have been doing and will continue to do is inform the customer on the process for handling their claim and their options. If they want to make the call then I inform them they will need to insist on SGT and why. If they don't want to make the call then I do the job without the call and send in the invoice to the local agent when possible and to the home glass claims office all other times. Either way I always direct bill to bypass the network. I usually will get a phone call to verify the nature of work done but that is it. So far I have had good results. I find most people do not want to file the claim and pay cash though. I truly believe that people are skeptical of something for FREE, especially when dealing with the insurance companies. At least here on the East Coast. They also fear that the their premiums will go up for any type of claim even after I have explained it. Either way is fine with me. With cash though, I get my money on the spot. I still let them know if they change there mind they can submit the invoice themselves.
As for the website, the company is visualclay.com and can be linked to from the bottom of any page on my website. The web-tech that designed my site is Matt and his company is based out of Washington State. As for what it will cost, you will have to contact him and discuss your needs. He can customize it big or small and the prices will vary accordingly. They also do some other very impressive things as well. If you drop him an e-mail, tell him Brian from SGT sent you. You might get a break. No guarantees though.
Pay it foward,
Brian
