Injectors - disposable plastic or metal?
Injectors - disposable plastic or metal?
What do you prefer and why? I use disposable plastic ones that a NOVUS friend of mine supplies me with. They actually last a very long time before I pitch them. I'm not dealing with having to ever clean them or replace seals or anything like that. They are inexpensive (actually they are free to me because he gets more than he needs every time he orders resin) They work nicely with the bridge that I designed and manufactured myself.
Re: Injectors - disposable plastic or metal?
I whittle mine out of wood. If you buy a 4x4x10, you would be suprised how many injectors and bridges it can make. Takes a little time, but it's so much better than buying one injector that lasts forever!
But hey, if you get them for free, nuthin beats free

Re: Injectors - disposable plastic or metal?
Wow, that is quite interesting. Never thought of whittling them out of wood. Do you have a lot of time on your hands? LOL
Re: Injectors - disposable plastic or metal?
no, but it seems like way to many people on here are so worried about finding the cheapest thing out there, even if they spend all there time making it. You could be out doing repairs!
I for one am not willing to spend all my time making crap, when its going to end up looking hokey anyway. I project a professional image, so i'll leave all the whittling to you guys.

Re: Injectors - disposable plastic or metal?
My background (prior to getting into WSR) is as a machinist and welder. With the right tools and equipment you can design and build almost anything you put your mind to.
Why buy it if you can build it? There's no great design secret to manufacturing a very nice WSR bridge. I chose plastic injectors because I had them readily available to me during the design process.

I'm sure it looks peachy.
I find that while people are "welding" there bridges together, in the time it takes, I will have made enough money to buy a bridge and have money left over to take the little woman out to dinner

Re: Injectors - disposable plastic or metal?
For the record, I've been doing WSR for nearly nine years. Yes, I spent quite a bit of time perfecting my design (not making CRAP) and I'm very happy with the final result. It doesn't look "hokey" and it works great.
Re: Injectors - disposable plastic or metal?
You obviously have no concept of what can be built by a machinist with the proper tools, materials, and equipment. Someone designed and built the bridge you are using.
Does it look hokey?

Re: Injectors - disposable plastic or metal?
All of my equipment looks very professional, and doesnt look like someone made it in there basement.
Im sure you are incredibly skilled, and your home made crap doesnt look hokey.
Liten up!
