Looking for someone in Tucson that is a WSR tech to ask questions about the local market. I have been investigating the business possiblities and have some questions specific to Tucson.

Welcome Jeff- If your questions are related to saturation, be careful to consider the source. When I started I had a local guy tell me that my area was pretty much sewed up and there was very limited room for new techs. I have found just the opposite. Bob

You may want to ask your questions here, regardless of where the answers come from they are usually very beneficial, honest, and full of experiance. The questions you ask may be of help to every-one, so go-ahesd and ask away.

merci

PS You may want to change your log-in name, theres a certain Jeff here that is all knowing and all seeing  (I don't think he sleeps), it may cause some confusion for those of us whom just glance at the name and answer away.

repare-brise, Thanks for the advise. One question is how people deal with the extreme heat, does it effect the resin, what is an acceptable tempature of the windshield.

Heat does effect resin but in a good way, it makes it thinner. Some companies produce a thick resin for those cases when you require a thicker resin. As far as WS temp, you should be able to keep your hand on the glass for at least 15 seconds. I use a few differnt techniques to coll down the glass, depending on the sun, car colour, temp ect. First always open the windows to bring the inside temp down to that of the ambient air, second if you can bring the car to shade, do so when it is feasable(both for you and the car), if the car is equiped with AC it may be used to cool the glass. As a last ditch effort a wet towel near the site of the break will cool down the glass dramaticaly(make sure not to get to close to the break, and apply the towel slowly as not to "shock" the glass. As for the tech, drink lots of water, don't rush(a hot WS is a potential time bomb), wear a hat(see http://www.tilleyendurables.com for great head wear), work only as much as you need to, take lunch from 11-2, start early and finish late(8am-10.30 then 3pm-6pm), and find a pool and have some fun.

Enjoy
