So Zig Ziglar called me this morning ....

For those of you who know who Zig is, you know how exciting this moment was for me. Fo those of you who do not let me explain. I listen daily to sales/motivational/personal development tapes. I feel it is the only way to stay sharp and ready for objections and prepared for success... that being said Zig is on the very top of the top tier of speakers. I have almost everything he has put out and I listen to him regularly. he has been in the sales training biz for 30+ years and he turns down 10 jobs to every 1 he accepts ... that's how busy he is. Well several days ago when I was having my terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day and I decided that I was going to call my favorite person at his office to see if he had a word of encouragement for me. He happened to be out and the lady sent him an email saying I called. Days later and no return call ... which is to be expected. He is one of the highest acclaimed speakers in the world afterall. Well this morning at 8am (I have the flu and went to bed at after 3am) he called me and my wife couldn't believe he was on the phone and she had no idea why he would be calling me. Needless to say she brought the phone to me in bed and I could almost not even speak form being in the middle of sleeping and having so much phlegm (spelling?) ... but I pulled through it and he talked with me for 15 minutes.

I will have to give the rest of the story later.. I have an important appointment now and then I have another IRS audit today FUN FUN FUN!!

WOW!! Now that is cool, he called you, what an experience that must have been. I am a huge Zig Ziggler fan myself I couldn't imagine what it would be like to actually talk with him you are very lucky. Years ago when I first got into sales my uncle gave me a stack of his records LOL yes records. I had copied them onto cassette tapes so I could listen to them in my car, since then I have been to two of his seminars and have a collection of his works somewhere in boxes, after the move. My favorite little sane he has is sniop I just love that

What an awsome thing to have happen to you. Way To Go, I am so fired up and excited for you Brain. That would definetly make your day even if you are feeling sick. Just the opertunity to be able to talk with such an icon is increadible. I am kinda jelious now, I also listen to a lot of motivational stuff myself.

Brian, We're all waiting to hear more of your conversation with Zig Ziglar. Would'nt it be neat to have him present a seminar geared toward our business...Wishful thinking but he did say he'd love to spend time with each and everyone who'e ever listened to him.

Well it was a great conversation, after some small talk he told me about the trip he just got back from in India where they just started doing business. He then asked me what the issue I was having was and I told him about the situation I was having a few days prior. He said that if I listened to his tapes I already knew that failure is a circumstance not a person. Failure does not define us it strengthens us and of course I agree with that. We then talked about our mutual faith in Christ and how that interacts with my view on business and life in general. I asked him some about his history and told him that I wanted to be a speaker doing what he is doing eventually. We chatted a bit longer about some misc stuff and it was over, he had to go. The funny thing is he called on a number that was not blocked, so I savedit to my cell phone. A few days later I decided to call that number to see if it a hotel because he said he hadn't even made it home from India yet. It was not a hotel but it was his CELL PHONE LOL. I have Zigs private cell phone # saved to my phone
not that I am insensitive enough to actually call it but it is there!
