Bubble magic

Post by scratchy »

I just wanted to comment how impressed I am with the UV bubbles. I bought one at the training in San Antonio and 2 more the next week. I used shop rags for a year and a half before that without much problem. There is a kind of wow factor for the customer with this thing! They have no idea what its for because it is clear. Some think it is some kind of blast shield in case the inject explodes!

This size of the bubble and the access hole are perfect for cracks and chips somethimes enabling the use of two injectors under 1 bubble. I can even drill under it when mounted. The only improvement I could add is flip lever suction cups for mounting which would keep you from having to push down to mount. Not a problem though really.
Kudos to Delta for bringing it out. This thing works very good.

I also LOVE the uv bubble.
The only thing I would probably ever change in the design is the type of suction cup. I find that because the suction cups are pretty rigid, that I have to press pretty hard to get them to adhere to the glass. I would use a more limber (softer) suction cup. But like Scratchy said,... its really not a problem.

I haven't used one more than just messing with it at the seminars, but my first impression is that I would have a hinge that would allow you to open the front part to get temporary access to the chip if it needs attention or a closer look. Just a thought.

It already has a huge cut out for access which can be position anyway you want. There is no need to lift it off until you are ready to cure.

We really like our UV bubble, and it never fails to attract attention from passerbys that have always ended up wanting us to do a job or two for them. Dawn

I really like Jonnyone's idea!!!!!!

Advertising on the bubble. Simple, and yet it's a very good form of advertising.

I think I will put some vinyl lettering on mine, just like on my truck... simple.

But I have to say I do like the happy-face idea as well. People like the happy face.

I have used one a couple of years ago and the only thing that needed improvement was maybe a better seal on the windshield so water could not get through it.those of you who have the new ones do you use it in the rain also and do you come across the same problem?

I've been thinking about getting a UV bubble myself and I was wondering if there's any problem attaching it if your repair is close to an edge (either top, bottom, or side)? I think it would be a great attention-getter.

The rubber seal Delta has on the bubble is very good when attached to the flat part of the WS. For edge repairs just hang the bubble on the injector and attach 1 suction cup to the WS to secure it. I would only worry about high winds which could catch the bubble and blow it off.
