Wiper blades refills
Wiper blades refills
Does anyone offer wiper blade replacement? If so, how successfull is it and were is a good place to buy just the blades, not the arms/blades combo? I ask because I had to replace my wiper blades on my car recently so I went into my local Aut parts store looking for just the blade and they did not carry just the blades anymore. You have to spend almost $30.00 to get two blade/arms combos these days. I finally found just the blades at another auto part store but even they had a huge selection of the combo's but just a few blade only. I bet before long you will only be able to buy the combo. Might be a good up sell.
Re: Wiper blades refills
yes your right may be a good up sale but thay can be a real pain to replace only the wiper its self, been there done that, takes up some time with some types of refills. and all the differant types would make it hard to have them on hand, 14 years in service dept and i came to dislike them because i would end up helping customers from parts to put theirs together. jim

Thanks TJ
If I am not mistaken, there are several different lengths but only three different widths to choose from. I saw a guy carry just the longest length in the three widths and simply cut to legth with a pair of wire snips depending on the make and model of car. The last time I bought a pair of just blades they were under $4.00 for the pair retail. My point is, if I can find them wholesale for under $4.00 for a set I bet I could charge a minimum of $15.00 installed all day long.
You are right about the instalation part being a little tricky to the consumer but and thats what makes this so attreactive to them. I see the auto parts store attendant putting them on all the time when I go to buy something. They treat putting on wiper blades like doing there taxes, It has to be done they just want someone else doing it so to double my money I will learn the tricks to installing blades. Hey, its just a thought. It might be more trouble then it looks like TJ said.
