The proper depth will be covered in your training class that you will soon be taking from the manufacturor of your kit!

In the mean time, drilling depth is subjective to the work at hand. If you are drilling at the end of a crack, or into a small star, to create a mini bulls-eye, the hole should stop about .040-.050" from the laminate. To test the depth and practice this opperation, drill into the glass, then using your pic or a sewing machine needle, insert it into the hole then "tap" the back of it with a 1 inch by 4 inch piece of plastic in a slapping motion(if someone else can describe it better please do Ii am at a loss of verbage ). This action should create a mini bulls eye , if nothing happens drill a little further, and try again. At no time should you drill to the laminate(pvb layer between the pieces of glass). Once you have the desired result practice until it becomes second nature.

Hope I have helped
