The waiting begins, but still plenty to do!

Post by Thomas »

Well, I took Delta Kits training in Eugene a week ago today. Was waiting for my last paycheck till today from the last job I had. So I ordered my kit today along with a couple of extra items and now the waiting begins. I still have plenty to do in the mean time.

Register trade name with the county.
Get business bank account set up.
Get cell phone for business.
Get magnetics for my vehicle.
Business cards.
Invoices.
Disclaimers.
Set up with the new edirect.com for billing.
Insurance.
News release for local paper.
News release for the long distance papers where i will set up once a month.
Pray that it all comes together! :eusa_pray
Bang head against wall trying to think of what else i forgot! :eusa_wall
Feel stupid for the things I did forget! :eusa_doh:
Practice.
Practice.
Practice.
Buy Aspirin.
Did i mention Practice, and buy aspirin.
Then I guess, just go out and do it.

Anything I missed? Please feel free to let me know, and thanks for any input.

Hi Tom

I was at the class last week too! and my DBA is Sweet Home Windshild Repair. Hey I'm willing to share what I'm learing if you share with me...

Well I have my bank account almost set up.
Insurance at state farm for 500,000 coverage cost $175.00 year
Sent off for DBA to state
For practice I'm teaching my Automotive students how to do chip repair and one just left tonight we worked on a huge crack in his windshild.

I'm trying to decide on a smart phone which will work with edirect software; I called them and they recomended a hp pda2k and said new models are going to be released at the end of the month. So......

Hey have fun this weekend!

I just wanted to know what kind of policy you were able to get for $175 a year? I pay $500.00 for mine and it is with State Farm.

I pay $215 a year from RLI also. Ashley was great and made the whole thing simple. I was done in a couple of hours, after receiving app. then faxing back and paying. State farm doesn't sell ins. for our business type, they might have sold you garage owners ins.

Thanks stresslessone for the heads up, State Farm has not sent me the finalized contract. I'll look it over and let everyone know.

Good start up list... what are you going to include in the Press Release? .. I'm not sure if it will pull in the editorial without a good byline? Not sure if wsr is their pick of the week unless its an advertorial or something or you pay them to include it??.

My state farm agent tried to get me a quote and called 2 days later and said he doesn't carry what I needed. From what I have read, The garage owners insurance is like having an auto shop. I'm not sure what the coverage is or the cost. RLI covers us as a home based business.
