Fleet Pricing

Post by Sneck »

Hi guys...

I am pretty much use to just doing retail work only. Well, I'm excited to report that one of my happy customers has referred a construction company to me for my windshield repair services and turns out they have 38 trucks (not semi-trucks), just pick-up trucks. I spoke with them today and I have learned that with the amount of travel that they do, I am told that there is usually couple trucks a week with windshield damage.

I asked them if they have ever had any fleet work done before for their windshield repair needs, (I was hoping to get some idea of price-history). It turns out that they have never looked into windshield repair. They would just keep driving the trucks until a chip eventually cracked out and had to replace the entire windshield.

So I am looking for a little guidance in pricing for fleet vehicles. I would imagine there will be times when I am only going to repair one windshield, while other times there will be more.

Any help on fleet pricing would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Sneck

hi! I have done fleet accounts and right now i do work for an alluminum
siding co with about the same no as you don't give too much of a discount
because co talk a big talk but when it comes down to it it might only be 1
truck a week just like a retail job however if there is more than 1
i print out receipt regular price them give a discount that way i can show it as a loss on tax day i charge 60.00 for 1 discount maybe 10.00or 15.00
i charge 15 for 2nd hit:)

I Charge my fleet accounts $25.00, once they see the quality work, they feel they are getting a great deal, I have come to the realization that with gas prices going up and being a newbie in my area (CT) I have to give people a good deal, I will not go below my price of $25.00 though, take it or leave it.

to GFD77; being in the northeast i would think you are too low in price
forget that your a newbie its quality that counts and that is ageless
your worth at least 50.00 for each window and 15.00 for aditional hit
dont't sell yourself short, you are providing a service. after the initial
repairs you may go a week or two or three before getting work and maybe
only one repair do you mean your going to run over there for 25.00?
ppl always talk a good talk about how many repairs your going to do.
it is hard now to raise your price ; you can always give discounts at bottom
of bill but they need to see and get used to regular priceso that when you do give a discount they will be happy about it what do you charge for retail??

To Mr.Chip

I already tried the $50.00 route, trust me I priced myself out of any business, since there is a guy in my area doing it for $20.00 I did not want to water down the service so I stayed in the same price range, for retail I charge $35.00, I know we provide a great service, however until there is stronger demand for it from the retail side in my area, I have to do what I can to stay in business.

Thanks everyone for your input.

You have helped me decide how I am going to approach fleet pricing.

In a nut shell... I am not going to give any fleet discounts. I already give discounts to retail customers when multiple chips or multiple vehicles are repaired at their location.

I am going to give my fleet customer same price and discounts as retail.

I'm going to KISS it. (Keep It Simple Stupid)

Thanks again guys for your input.
