Dealership work
Dealership work
Hello and thanks to everyone here I finally went to my first car dealer. He didn't have any work for me then but said he would call me as soon as he did since he never hears from the guy he used to call. I remember many people on this board telling me this would probably be the way it goes. Well i just wanted to thank everyone for finally making me realize how freakin easy it really was to make the call and then visit them. There was no sales work involved at all ( thats my downside sales) Now I have to hit about 20 more in the area LOL
thanks

Re: Dealership work
Hi Jeff,
I'm looking forward to starting my own WSR business as soon as possible. And I hope to get in on some fleet work. Sounds like it could bring steady money, if your reliable and play your cards right. At one time I worked in advertising and some of my best customers were large car lot's, so I'm not intimidated in the least. I'll talk to anybody
I wonder what other companies would make a good fleet account? What about a rent-a-car company? Hmmmm....or do you think they have in-house WSR repair? I guess I'll have to knock on some doors after I get started and find out!
Sharon

Re: Dealership work
Hello,, I wish I was a good talker myself. I hear it is hard to get rental car company work but if you do good work you may be able to swing it
I wish you luck but you should be fine if you do good work.

Re: Dealership work
Hey tooldini don't wait for the call , visit them regularly and check the glass yourself . You will get the work and if the other guy isn't regular you'll get your price too. Convenient , Dependable and Regular vendors get with dealers.
Re: Dealership work
Hi tooldini when I first started going into dealerships to try to get accounts , I was a little worried about talking to them. The more you go out and do it the easier it gets. Try at least going to 5 a day , by the 3 dealership you yourself will notice improvement in confidence . I could'nt agree more with sunshine wr . I have had vendors stop in to my dealerships with a lower price , but since they know I provide good service and work ethic and I have established relations they stick with me and my price.
Re: Dealership work
Thanks guys that was my plan to stop by randomly and talk to at least keep in touch with dealers. That seemed to be his problem with the other guy he hadn't even heard from him in quit a while.I was just excited to see that it wasn't that hard to talk to a dealer like I thought it may be. Thanks again for the help.

Re: Dealership work
Stop by the dealer on the same day and time every week, walk the lot and write down the stock # on everything you see. Even if they have someone, keep going every week. Next visit see if the cars on your list are fixed, if not you have some extra leverage. If they are fixed, look at the quality if poor, offer a free repair to show them you are better. If the lot is being serviced properly on a weekly basis move on, but stop in every month or two.
Re: Dealership work
Thanks CPR. I visited two more today and one was glad to see me and said they gets lots of them but didn't have any at this time. they also said they don't have anyone that does them
Good deal there. The other lot was a large dealership and they said they had a person but asked for my card and said it is always good to have two
so far things seem pretty good although I haven't gotten any work yet.I will keep up and visit regularly. Thanks for all the help and advice it is working for me
thanks
Jeff

thanks
