12 Volt Light

[WRS-Q8]

I purchased a GM 12 volt light two months ago and now its not working. The light has never been dropped, its not the bulb, and all connections thoughout the assembly look fine. GM will not replace the light.

Anyone else have problems with 12 volt light assemblies?

Not familiar with that particular light, but check for a fuse either inside the light or the connector that plugs into the 12 v receptical.

In Kuwait they have this big ole yellow light in the sky why arnt you using that? If you are indoors the plain ole 110v or 220v uv light that you plug in the wall tends to be more reliable I quit using the battery lights awhile ago I have a converter in the van to change the 12v to 110v if I need the light outdoors (maby twice last year) and just plug it in the wall if im indoors But I prefer the big yellow round one in the sky myself

I dont have a problem with the "Big ole Yellow light in the sky"! Unless its not pointing on the 1500 trucks lined up in the yard.
I have a problem with a 12 Volt uv light purchased from GM.

I'm a little surprised that GM did not walk you through the process of using that light to help you find what is wrong. I bet Delta would have! What say you Repair-brise?

The light in the sky doesnt need to be pointing at the truck if its daylight and your outside you are getting reflected UV not as strong but works great I myself try not to be in direct sunlight sometimes the glass gets hot especialy where you are

First I would take it apart. It probably is just a connection that came loose. If you do't see any thing obvious use an ohm meter to check the plug and input wire for a break. The circutry in those lights is pretty durable and I would bet it's just a loose wire.

I do a combo of a glass weld 1 min/30 sec light. However if the Sun is out and if I have multiple w/s or damage on one shield to do I find that the big yellow spot in the sky works GREAT. Dawn

Surprised to hear GM didn't help you out more with your problem. I have a 12volt UV ligth from GM, and i had to replace the cigarette lighter socket I just picked one up at Radio Shack cut off the old plug and installed the new one. Other than that I never had a problem with my GM light.

If the sun is not shining on the windshield, just use a mirror to bounce the rays onto the repaired area to cure the resin. The rays reflect like a laser.
