Embroidery / Screen Printing
I am looking to get some uniforms(shirts, jackets, hats) made. Either embroidered or screen printed. Thought I would hit up my fellow repair technicians that have had this done, for thier sources. Our problem locally is finding a place that will do very small quanities at a reasonable price. If you have done something different to be branded on your cloths we are open to suggestions. Thank you in advance.

Re: Embroidery / Screen Printing
Thanks for the link. I actually found the specific style coveralls I have been looking for there.
I have solved our problem and I will share what we will be doing...
The most cost effective way to be branded without having to pay setup fees for digitizing(embroidery) or screens(screen printing) was literally right under my nose but it took my mom to make me realize it. It is an ID badge. I wear one everyday for security clearance purposes at my fulltime job at the airport.
I know this might not be the best avenue for all but think about for a second... If you are new and just starting out as many are, you do not have all kinds of money to shell out initially for uniforms? Well maybe some do:) This provides an extremely cost effective way to be branded and look professional and official all at the same time. No setup fee if done by you and should not wear out. It can be easily done on the computer and then laminated. If done nicely this might actually stand out more than embroidery. It has more applications as well depending on the garment you can wear it around your neck or clip it to a shirt pocket flap. Once you get going and get established then move up to the luxury.
Sure I could just go buy them, I have a fulltime job but I am very determined to build this from scratch as if it were my only source of income. Right now thank GOD it is not:) but now that I am back up and rolling again, hopefully that will change. I want to be able to say I went from rags to riches so to speak.
Anyway, Hope this might help some. When I am done, maybe DK will post to give ideas.

Re: Embroidery / Screen Printing
Hi ...
Goodness, that sounds like alot of trouble for a look that may not end up looking professional (just my opinion). Having a laminated card on your shirt pocket looks so security guardy. Why not just go on eBay and get someone to do the custom embroidery for you for like $80 for 6 Gildan quality shirts? Its dirt cheap - there are deals out there.. you just gotta search them out with a keen eye. I'm all for the keeping costs to the minimum but why go to all that trouble for something that can be done for a few bucks more and looks a whole lot better? Hope this helps.

Re: Embroidery / Screen Printing
Windshield Guy,
I do tend to lean towards your view myself. Everywhere I have searched to accomplish what we are looking to do is more than I want to spend right now(a few hundred$$$). I have been told our logo is very detailed and to reproduce it acuratley comes with set up fees, high stich counts and minimums higher than we need at the present time with a to long of a turn around time. What I am suggesting will let us or anyone be branded and get out in front of potential clients immediatley, build capitol and upgrade. You might be right, it might not look professional, I will see and share. Hey, if you know where you can get embroidery done at a reasonable rate without high minimus please let me know. I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Re: Embroidery / Screen Printing
Hey, SGT,
For a complex logo a better solution would probably be screen printing. Check out customink.com .I got some polos and tees done about a tear and a half ago from them no minimums and reasonable pricing. They also have a feature that will allow you to upload your logo and see how it will look on the shirt you choose. You might think about getting hoodies to wear( I know it's chilly in your neck of the woods). I had some hoodies done up and everyone liked them so much nnow most of the vendors I work around are getting them too.

Re: Embroidery / Screen Printing
I think Queensboro are actually better than the ebay deal I originally thought was a good deal .. I havent put an order in yet with the ebayer or know the ebayers work so cannot vouch for them.. they had a simple logo come back this pm that looks like a Steve and Barrys Outlet deal (varsity stuff) which won't fly...Queenboro's examples are shown so I may put an order in with them .. seriously tho... that laminated card thing may end up looking kinda crappy... hope your not offended but I had to say it ... cause I've seen it - winds up looking like a fly-by-night and ppl are already wary of the tent set up deal for windshield repair as it is. Just as an FYI, I also had the van lettered for $100 (3 sides 2 colours) US total inc shipping by an Ebayer. I put the vinyl lettering on myself - if anyone wants that persons details I will forward it - she is genuinely very good, very patient with translating the style I wanted. Hope this helps. Have a great day.
