no charge repair by replacement shop

I'm now flying a route that leaves me in Midland/Odessa 7 hours a day.
I had hoped to get rental cars business @ the airport, but learned a local glass company gives away repairs to get the replacement jobs.
Anyone else encountering that?

Sounds like the old bait and switch tactic has alot of potential in this scenario. We all know that most damage is repairable. If that is the case, I am sure it won't be long before they realize most windshields are being replaced. Keep pushing the conflict of intrest and why you can deliever what the others say they can but do not because they have a vested interest in the larger profit potential from full replacements. Make sure you talk in general(no names) or it will look like you are just bad mouthing the competition.

If they are legit, IMHO it is not such a hot idea. I do not replace glass but I think that since most damage is repairable they will be giving up a lot of profit for the occasional replacement. I guess it would depend on the averages though.
