It's the little things

Post by Mike Allen »

I've now had my doors open for 6 months and although things have slowed down lately I'm still finding new ways to keep my chin up. Although, some days are harder to keep it up than others, I'm still chugging away. In fact, I'm working harder now than when I started.

So here's little thing number 1. Yesterday I did a repair for a guy. Apparently I had left a business card on his daughters windshield and she gave it to him. The car in question is a 2000 Merc S430, a very nice car indeed. When you shut the passenger door, it has an electric motor that pulls the door shut all the way. Anyway, so he's had a chip, a good half dollar size daisy shaped combination, for about 4 or 5 years. The client had taken the car to another place in town and they told him it was an immediate replacement due to the age at a cost of $1000. I didn't know it until afterwards when he said it and I didn't even think about it because the break was still so clean. So it was a pretty much easy fix inside a nice 3 car garage right next to a Porsche Carerra 4 and BMW convertible.

Little things #2,3,4 and 5.

So I ended up with a very nice repair job, an extremely happy and suprised couple that saved almost a grand and was able to get up close to some very nice rides.

Little thing #6
After leaving there, I went about canvassing for most of the day. Met some very beautiful but married women, saw some very, very expensive and lovely homes and netted a few more repairs.

Little thing #7 and 8
Today started out bright and early with one repair that came out very well. It was a pretty good star break and I absolutely despise those wretched things as we don't get along. But today was a new day, the weather was cool at about 80 degrees and I'm in the shade. The repair comes out nicely and while I'm waiting on the pit resin to cure I take a looksy at their other vehicle. Ah, another chip in that one and I ask to repair it. I give him a good price since I'm already there and he accepts. Another good repair and a happy customer. More cash in my pocket and off I go canvassing more homes.

Little thing #9
I spent the rest of the day meeting more georgeous women with huge rocks on their fingers, damn, and one babysitter( with not so little things #10 and #11) so hott that it was just wrong what I was wanting to do with her in a split second(LT 12 - 26):icon_twis . Ahh, who cares about the rest of the day now anyway?

It is really annoying how many beautiful women there are in Annapolis and it seems most all that I meet are taken.

I've ended the day after handing out over 100 flyers door to door and placing 50 business cards on damaged windshields at the mall in less than 30 minutes. There should be some future business to come out of today from either company cars or heavy travelers with bad windshield luck and just the relationship built with meeting prospective clients face to face.

The mall that I go to is such a huge goldmine and I'm glad to have permission from the mall management to put out business cards. As I was walking around today I began thinking more and more how much I need to tap into that place. It isn't really my style but I think a tent, some banners and nice little discount can really bring me some clients.

And here's the last little thing that makes me feel good about this business of mine. New graphics on my truck. The old style never sat well with me and I finally got sick of it. A special thanks goes out to Signs by Tomorrow for the help.

And I almost forgot that I'm working on a website. I've done a bunch of writing and have the basic idea in my head how I want it to look. Maybe in another week I'll have mostly together.

Old style, yeech!

New style. It just feels more professional to me.
