pricing

I am sure that this has been covered in the past. I would like to know a good pricing structure. I live in South Carolina. I mainly work auto dealers.(i do PDR)
What should I charge dealers or wholesale accounts for windshield repair. What can i charge retail customers. Just need some guide lines to help me be competitive in this market and MAKE MONEY!!

Hi,
I hate to say this but south carolina is the absolute worst state to do rock chip repair because the law requires any insurance company to waive deductibles on windshield replacement so you wont get payed from the insurance companies......

There are many folks who do repair in states that have that law. My brother moved to Fla. and they too have the manditory replacement (waiver) clause in insurance. My mother lived there for many years untill she passed and had her vehicles repaired many times. She knew it was a good alternative to replacement and never had a shield replaced as a result!!!! No leaks for her!!! She was a very smart and froogal individual. You can ask Jeff he'll tell you I got a lot from her in the froogality end of things!!! You just have to sell. Your customer needs to be educated as to the benefits!!! No leaks, damage to the pinchweld from replacement, original seal cannot be duplicated!!!! Aftermarket shields are inferior period!!!
In short you can do it!!!!!! No appointment nessesary!!!!!
My best mentor one said " be fair with your priceing but never too low, be honest with your customer/competition, when the day is done be sure you have done "good works", and always leave something of value on the barganing table!!

While my friend and trainer/ mentor Ray has moved on, his words live.

Hello ag4l is there anyway you can go mobile? I know in my area several places are in shop only and customers sometimes end up calling me to find a place that will go to them. Maybe you could advertise after hours mobile service for repair only.
