Investigating the Business

Post by ZZR_Rider »

Hello,

I'm researching this business and thinking about proceeding with a kit and training. I would start on a part-time basis and proceed from there depending on how things go. I wanted to know if there is any information regarding the number of repair techs in a given area? I live in Phoenix, AZ and I would suspect that there is a LOT of competition in this business? On the other hand, Phoenix has a poputlation of about 1.3 million. In the surrounding areas there's about another .5 million. That's a lot of windshields  I also would like to know what is a typical radius in miles that's recommended to service. With gasoline at about $3.00/gallon I would supect that you wouldn't want to go over a 15 mile radius before the travel expenses cut too far in to the profit.

Thanks. I've done quite a bit of searching on this site and there is a lot of good information and helpful people here.

Regards,
John - Phoenix, AZ
