How physically demanding is WR?
How physically demanding is WR?
The reason I am asking is that I live in an area where there is a hi need for rock chip repairs. It is a small town but our window repairman just left. I am an average sized female and I just wanted to know if this is something I can do. I am not afraid to work nor am I weak by any means just not of large stature.
Thanks

Lisal5,
Windshield repair is not physically demanding at all. As far as gender....it's pretty much a equal playing field. The only thing that separates good WSR techs from not so good ones, is proper training and experience.
If you have a void and great opportunity in your area for repair, I'd jump on it before somebody else does!
Wish You Luck!

Get some steps and proper training and there is no problem. I learnt long ago if a customer has a problem with me personaly then there is one round the corner who does not. Gender should make no difference I hope.
33,000 + screen repairs over 18 years and still learning.

Congats......It was under 24 hours for someone to make a sexist remark!
What if that post was made by a 5'3" skinny male?

Lisa15, welcome to the forum.
One of my competitors is a middle age, 5'5" tall female who cleans houses when not repairing WS. Your biggest physical challenge will be reaching the breaks on comercial trucks (semis), large SUV's when break is near rear view mirror and jacked-up pick-up trucks. I carry a 10" foot stool and a 4' ladder and I'm 6'2" tall.
