impact point larger than injector
impact point larger than injector
The impact point was a little larger than the injector. I was unable to seal it to pressurize the repair. Somebody can give me advice?

Re: impact point larger than injector
large pit adapter or put pit filler in break apply cure tab once cured drill to break and repair as normal use a thick pit filler so it doesnt work its way down to the break making the repair easier
Re: impact point larger than injector
i use glassweld equip....never did like adapter..leaks to easy and you have too tighten it down too much..oh well ..whatever works

Mrchip,
I only tighten about a half a turn when injector touches adapter and hardly ever have a leak. Is your black rubber seal still soft and pliable?

Re: impact point larger than injector
I'm with Glasstarz on this one and I use L.R. super thick pit filler for this job however I don't use it to finish out the repair as it is a little soft.I use Liquid Resins' super hard stuff for that.I wuold like to make the large pit adapter work for this but just havn't had any luck yet.Maybe an oversize o-ring might be the answer. If I was to design an injector I would fit a larger end seal.Is the Glass mechanics injector have a larger seal??The literature seems to show that it has.

Re: impact point larger than injector
They advice here with the pit fill is great unless you did not find out that the seal leaked when you had the chip half filled. In that case you have a mess on your hands. It is important to inspect a damage as much as possible before we start the job. All part of quality training, please let us know where you were trained, as we are trying to build a picture of the training available out there.
