Hadn't done it and don't intend to. The buyers are used car dealers.
I can't say people are the same everywhere but around here trying to deal with a used car dealer is second to dealing with a gypsy. I automatically throw up a strong defence shield if I find I am dealing with either one.
Both are a waste of time and I find it's best to buy more beer rather than deal with either.
At least I'm assured of going home happy.:)

I totally disagree about car dealers.Yes they can take a little work to get in the door with ,but thats what selling is about.I much prefer looking forward to a steady supply of repairs at one stop. 4 -10 at every time I cycle through and once these cars are sold you never see them again. It sure beats chasing an Ins.Job across 4 corners of the county at 50/10/10 for one windshield when I can make 2 to 3 times the $$$$$$$ in the same amount of time.Once there I always sell additional services. If you want to work Dealer Auctions get in touch with the prep/detail guys and they will point you in the right direction. In this business I look at total dollars that can be made in a period of time ,just not how much I can get for a repair. If its a retail job I charge $50/10/10. But If a dealer will give me 5/10 jobs on the same lot at $35.00,each you do the math.I cant make money driving, only by repairing. No need to tell me I am running down the price in the Industry.I am only working the system to maximize my profits. If you tell a dealer you refuse to work for less that 50.00 per repair, guess what you will earn .......$00.I will come in right behind you and make plenty. While you ride around grumbling about those so and so car dealing gypsies I will be spending their money. Just another point of view........................................

Your inability to learn how to do business with "Used Car Dealers" doesnt make it a bad market just makes you unable to reach into the one the most profitable markets in the business. Some folks are happy to sit under a tent and hope customers will roll in to each there own personaly if im gonna sit and do nothing its on a beach. worked 4 hrs today did $610 yup those car dealers suck any one else who would like to know how to make $100,000 a year working 30 hr weeks with those impossible Used Car Dealers I would be happy to help

GlassStarz,
It seams that you have made that part of the market work for you. If you don't mind my asking what do you charge your fleet accounts? When I lived in texas most used car lots would only pay 10 bucks a windshield no matter how many chips where on it. So I said nope. What is the secret of your phenomenel success.

I have found a nitchfor myself I decided I didnt want to drive from spot to spot all day doing one here one there I now go to one dealer and spend the day I do the WR and paint chips and scratch removal no one else does what I do so they have to give me the business. Diversify is my advice become unlike the other dozen guys who walk in the door doing WR. When I bought my paint repair system as an add on to my WR I had no Idea the response would be so strong. The customer doesnt give me the WR I dont do the other stuff and vice a versa. Dozens of guys doing WR dozens of guys doing Interior repair dozens of fools spraying bumper covers for $75 no one doing what I do its simple supply a product unlike anyone else build a relationship with the customer reach max penetration in your market. It works for me

Hi,

I am assuming you are dealing with car dealers who have atleast 100 cars (if you are getting about 5/10 repairs?)

how about going to these car shows/ car club events etc. I'm sure that is a good place to get business?

I do prefer the idea of actually sticking in one busy spot and getting business rather than travelling from one repair to the other!!

Most of the car dealer I have worked with usally want the lowest price for our service and they are not loyal to you. They usally have cars on there lots that they have lost money and don't want you to work on them.

You said that you made $610 in 4 hrs but you did'nt say if it was WSR or PDR, I am sure it was'nt in WSR. Also these account take 30 day or more to collect on. Then when you get payed you have to figure out what cars they payed you on, I find it very time consuming to do this.

johnnyone,

It is a shame you have had experiences like this with the motor trade. Like all other industries there are good and bad, believe me it is very possible to do $600 at one dealership in one visit. I have dealers that stock only 35 cars that give me 2 or 3 jobs per week and have done so since 1988 now if thta is not loyalty then I do not know what is. A lot of dealing with the motor trade is about knowing how to handle them, you have to be confident and stand up for what you want, not many people can do that. I was a used car dealer for 15 years before starting WSR so I know how to react to them.

We used to visit Nottingham Car auctions when it was a lot smaller and would always pick up a few jobs in the short time we where there.

People spend a lot of time worrying about where to get work without actually going and do something about it. The customer you did not call on last week someone else did and they have them now.

To make a change you have to do something different.
