Re: John
If they only take you 5 minutes to do each one and they give you a few jobs at a time and they are right next door to your house. I would still not devalue my skills for working for such a low price. If you are good there is always a proper paying customer around the corner.
Working this low has destroyed the business in many area's. If another of your customers finds out what you do they will want the same.
Be brave, be proffesional and charge a proper price, see my signature.

Re: John
I would have NEVER started doing them 7 years ago for that price.
Re: John
By no means!!
Who cares if they threaten you! In my exp. anyone who does repairs for $18 has no clue how to do a repair, so let them go. When they get some hack in there running out breaks to get a replacement or not completing the repair because they have to move quickly from car to car, all of the sudden your higher price isn't so bad.
Like Zig Ziggler said, "Is it the price you are concerned about or value?"
Price you pay once!

Re: John
I would try to go up in price due to the cost of doing bussiness, everbody else has gone up..
There will always be some one else to get there work if they choose not to go with your new pricing, Sound like you have been giving them a low ball price to start with.

I charge $60/$15 for public, $50/$10 for small fleets & $40/$10 for large fleets. I have only one client, a car dealership that I get an average of 50 windshields a year to repair, that I let dictate the price. He pays me $35 flat for 1 or 2 repairs, and $40 flat for 3 or more. He expects immediate service via my personal cell phone and requires that I stop by and check all windows on the lot twice each week. I know how you feel!
What do you say we take the plunge together? One of this guy's favorite things to say is, "Hey, I can go down to Napa and get the self-repair kits for $5 each." Maybe it is time that he does!?
I think you need to evaluate how much this account makes you each month/year. If they let you come in on your slowest day and they have all their cars lined up for you with a minimum of 10 cars each time... maybe stick with them. Otherwise, very nicely let them know that you look forward to serving them again when they are ready. Still send nice X-mas cards...
