I do not own a tent, but they seem to be bulky and heavy... I would probably just be setting up for my slow times and might have to fold up and drive to a job several times each day. What brand of tent have ya'll had the best luck with?
So, my awning question... has anyone tried attaching an awning to their vehicle, kinda like an RV camper has... a spring-loaded rolling mechanism like the old house window shades... if this was mounted on the back of my car, might it be faster and easier to set up and take down? This would not work well on small cars, but on my big Chev Tahoe...
Has anyone already "invented this wheel?" (Before I re-invent it):eusa_danc
I think EZ-Up tents are the better, most vendors prefer them.
An awning like the one you are talking about has been used by auto glass replacement companies for years. Mounted to the side of a van for instant shade and light rain. I had one on one of my replacement vans I think we bought it from equalizer glass tools.

This is great, I almost work the same way only I built a trailer and set it up so the shade hits the windshield. I still use a sunscreen though. UV light will leech through without it and if you are wearing white the UV light will bounce off and still cure your resins to fast.

The Uv bounces off you clothes now ive heard it all
If you can see then chances are you have UV everyone should be putting a UV shield over the repair its the easiest thing in the world I use the yellow ones from Liquid Resins came free with the injector really no excuse other than being lazy not to use one

Where are the donkeys to pull that thing?? Do you also read fortunes???
We too have the UV shields from LR they do stop a large amont of UV rays but they are more of a filter than a complete blocking device. Back them up with a towel next to the injector and your fine. AS far as UV's bouncing this is true they can, (although the shirt may not be the source) if they pass thru moisture they will change directions, they also "bend" while passing thru glass. We allways protect from "stray UV's" Casting a shadow will not get the job done, you must "block" all UV's to avoid premature curing.

My best mentor one said " be fair with your priceing but never too low, be honest with your customer/competition, when the day is done be sure you have done "good works", and always leave something of value on the barganing table!!
While my friend and trainer/ mentor Ray has moved on, his words live.
I do the towel thing also it also keeps the injector from getting to cold in the winter sometimes the suction cup gets stiff as it gets cold on pops of the towel seems to elininate this as well
Back to the awning I think the reason for useing one is to get the auto out of the sun or weather not really to block the UV my ez up says it blocks UV but all the stuff bouncing around I still use the yellow shield.
Yes if you look close, it is in the front and yes I read fortunes, send me enough $$$$$ and I'll tell yours. A lot of $$$$$$$$:biggrin::biggrin:
