Saying Hi

Post by Steelheader »

Just chiming in to say Hi to all the folks here on WR Forum.

I'm PDR trained and WR trained through Ding King. Lons story short, I was injured at work (prison guard) and was retrained by Work Comp. Went to training in Nov./Dec. and have been practicing since then. I am very disappointed in the result form my WR kit. At the training center I was filling in damage like a pro. But here at home, I can't seem to get a good repair to save my butt. Since I am so close to Eugene, OR, I'm trying to get into this week's training. He!! I might even trade in my Ding King Kit for a Delta Kit. I see they give up to a 40% discount to switch over to their product. :eusa_clap

We are considering moving to NC. Arethere any NCers on this forum that can give me a heads up on the areas to live and work in? PM me for correspondence please. :eusa_pray

Well, I see there is no "Edit" key or PM ability on this site. Duh...I shoulda looked before I leapt. Is there a way to correspond through the website without taking up bandwidth on the forum? Plus I apologize for the spelling and grammar mistakes. I hit the enter key too often without proofreading my post.

Steelheader,
I grew up in Brookings OR just 30 miles north of you. WOW, small world. BTW you will have PM and edit ability after you have been on the forum for 1 week.

Thanks for the heads up David. If you don't mind me asking, what is your age? Did you graduate from BHHS? My daughter went to K-school, Azalea, and BHHS. She graduated in '03. We lived in Brookings form '92-'02 before we moved down here, closer to work.

Well, that all depends on where my wife can find a job too. She works for a power company (Pacificorp), and she would like to find a similar job back there. She has tons of office work experience and is making @ $21.00 an hour (union job) with her company. We know the wages are much lower back east than they are here. However, we can buy a house that is similar to the one we are living in now for @ 300-400K less. A house in NC that is comparable to what we are now is $2-250K. Out here you are looking at 450-500K, easy. We would like to live in the central part of NC and eastward. We have been living in a remote location for so long, we do not want to live up in the mountains anymore. We love the lakes and love the coast, so anywhere we can make a good living in the central to eastward part of the state will be gravy for us.

Well dont move to charlotte NC. Not that I dont like competition its just that a company called American glass resources stands at every car wash and stops everyone who passes by. I mean every car wash and they even got a contract with auto bell which is a huge car wash company with hundreds of locations. Not only do they have car washes but also they cover a whole lot of gas stations. The thing about this is they do crap repairs and keep their kit and crap resin in a lunch box. They wont wait for the repair to cure and try to rip the customer off alot of times they wont even tell the customer its going on their insurance untill they are on the phone with their insurance company. Oh and I worked for them for a while and quit cuz of their non legit business practices. I would suggest winston salem its a nice place Im thinking of moving there or even raleigh.

It's funny you mention Winston-Salem. You are the second person I have corresponded with that has mentioned that area. Housing is very affordable and it's close to some fresh water lakes. We will definitely be givng W-S a visit when we go out there this summer. Is the WR business alive and well in that area? Remember that I do PDR also. But, I am not mobile with the PDR. I am not good enough at it to be able to do quick repairs on the road. I still have to take alot of time to remove the dents and i feel I can do a better job in a shop.
