I was surfing lately a number of windshield repair/supply sites and came across this one: windshieldrepair.com
I know at least a few of you are familiar with the company, and I don't doubt it probably has some quality products. But I was absolutely floored by their attitude of "We are the very best in every respect. All other companies have totally inferior products, training, support, etc." In several places on the website they majored on the whole "we are the best, everybody else is the worst" theme. They even said most of their clients were transfers from all these other companies that were so bad.
Yukk, about made me sick. We who've been in the business for awhile know it's absolutely untrue. Sometimes on this forum, it will come out which brand of resin or bridge assembly, etc. some of us feel is best or has worked the best for us. But jeees, very few of us would be so stupid as to think "all" the other brands are so bad in comparison. That's what made me feel I couldn't trust the company on that website, just the opposite reaction I'm sure that they were hoping to achieve.

Re: just venting
I'm aware of the company you are refering to. And I agree, the owner's ideas and image of he and his product are inflated. It seems some people have it in their minds that it's their way or no way. The arrogance offends me also. I don't understand how he's able to say what he says about other repair tools without reprocutions. Oh well, maybe his ego will be forced to take a turn at some point.

We use a local provider. By local I mean under a 2 hour drive. The only reason I used them over Delta. If I have a problem or if they lie to me. I know were to find them in person to handle it. I told the sales rep when we chatted MANY times. I will deal with you because If you lie to me I will come looking for you. He said fine do it. I them had to weight up my options. I asked that I be allowed to have 2 others trained and such for free. He said fine.
We got a 12 pack of beer and took off to pick up the kit and learn how to fix a windsheild. I ended up getting hotel rooms as we had more to learn and they were willing to let us hang around as long as we wanted. I have so far been impressed with the service they provide. DO I THINK THEY ARE THE BEST? I have no idea as I have not delt with anyothers. I do know were to find them.
I got upset last time we ordered as they forgot to ship one item. I sent a guy 93 miles there to voice his concern and pick up the resin. He came back loaded up with my check. I was very impressed.
That is Liquid Here in Illinois.

Delta Kits, Glass Mechanix, Liquid Resins and Glass Technology are all excellent companies to deal with. There are other companies out there but I have not had time to let them earn my trust. I live and die by the quality of the resin I use so it would have to be a national disaster to get me to change that. The best advice I can give is to shop around and try everybody's tools at least once. You might find you really like something. They all have unique advantages.
