Broke my new slide hammer
Broke my new slide hammer
So I'm pretty pissed off about this. I just got my slide hammer in the mail this morning and went to go practice knocking some bullseyes into some practice glass I have when I dropped it and broke the point off. Anything I can buy to replace it?

Did you consider contacting the company you purchased it from? Obviously Delta Kits stock replacement points, so all you have to do is call and order one. I was out of the office yesterday so if you did call already I apologize for stating the obvious.
The points for the slide hammers are a unique size and shape, so you probably won't find anything local to replace it, but in a pinch you could cut a drill bit to the proper length and grind one end to a point.
The points are made from a hardened steel so they will hold a point longer than mild steel, but that process also makes them more brittle.
The points are not expensive and they are small enough to throw in the mail, so the replacement won't cost you much.
