I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread about some of the common mistakes that could be made by "assuming" or "presuming" if you will. Maybe some of the old pros around here will chime in and it could be a good teaching thread. Or maybe it'll fall flat, but oh well, it's worth a try.
Anyway here's what I mean. I'll start with a few and maybe you can think of one or two to add...
Don't just assume...
Because it's only a bullseye, I can whip it out extra fast without taking any precautions.
Don't just assume...
Because the dealer or fleet manager doesn't check on the work that quality there doesn't matter.
Don't just assume...
Because it's a small starbreak that it doesn't have the potential to crack-out.

So true! It seems the simple always turns to be a lot more complex than originally thought to be. I find it is always best just to slow down think the process thru before just going for it.
Just because people don't check on you doesn't mean you can be sloppy. I once heard it said that people with good integrity are those that do what is right when no one is looking.

Do not just assume that the new customer you called on yesterday will use you next time he needs a repair done, call on him another 10 times to remind him you are there. This applies to major customers who can supply you with a large volume of work, the easiest way to get rid of a salesmen is say you will call when you need them.
33,000 + screen repairs over 18 years and still learning.

Dont assume that customers will find you go out and find them you can go fishing and sometimes they jump into the boat but a baited hook will bring a more reliable result

"Don't just assume"
That becuase it is easy to buy tooling and learn how to do repairs that this is an easy business. As with all things worthy, it takes effort.
That the potential for a high profit margin per repair makes this a get rich quick business
That NO means NO, It may just mean not right.
