My '91 Toyota
My '91 Toyota
I lost my little truck early Friday morning. Another vehicle tried to make a quick left turn in front of me at a busy intersection and I was unable to avoid the collision. Just wiped out the whole front end. Initial indications are that it is a total loss, therefore I will probably have to accept fair market value from that person's insurance. I have had this vehicle since it was new so the loss will be especially difficult. I will have to expend quite a bit of funds to replace it. So it is how life goes.

That is not nice, I hope no one was hurt. Make sure you get a fair pay out from your insurers, over here we have to negotiate to get a fair price. Maybe another Toyota would be on the books they sure are reliable.

Screenman...No one was injured, thanks. I have researched the vaue of the vehicle and it ranges from $1100 to $1600 dollars. With only 150,000 miles on it, it had lots of life left. Insurance adjustors are not friendly folks so I anticipate unpleasant negotiations. I have acquired a rental vehicle and my legal advisors indicate that the insurance company will have to reimburse me. That may speed things along a bit.
Thanks for your concerns.

Thanks for your concerns folks. As most of you know dealing with insurance companies and their adjusters is a very unpleasant task. Rather than deplete my savings to buy a new vehicle, a local dealer has found me a great deal on a 2001 S-10 Chevy pick up. I plan on closing the deal shortly, as soon as I resolve the '91 Toyota situation. Research through car fax indicates that the S-10 only has one entry on its record. A one owner vehicle that looks good. Can't let this slip by.
