Most challenging aspect starting out?

Post by Roo »

What was the toughest aspect you faced starting out in this business. I would be interested in hearing from veterans and newbies.

I guess for me it would be the fear of not making it and somehow transitioning from my regular job to windshield repair.

I think for most people the biggest thing is once they have learned how to repair they have to figure out where they want to work and have the nerve to walk up to someone and ask for the buisness lots of folks ut there who fail because they cant sell or dont know how to find customers

I would have to say that the challenge for me was learning that sales is a process and not an event. I entered this industry full time from the very beginning. So it was sink or swim. I am a natural survivor, so I had to make it work. The old phrase, "It works if you work it." is true for me. Having to face my fear of rejection and learn that I cannot choose when a fleet manager will use my services. Rather, I must be "there" when he needs them. This helps curb my fear and overcome objections.

This business has helped me learn how to educate and market, to sell and to befriend my clients, to deal with government contracts, and to fish for the whales.
What am I passionate about? Feeding my family. Building a strong healthy company. Providing a service to my fellow man. :) People>Service>Profit.
