Glasweld Glass Cooler

Post by jonnyques »

Just wondering if anyone has bought one of these? Hows it work? would you buy it again? etc etc.......

Looks like a water mister that sprays out under a fan. Looks like it attachés to the glass with a suction cup. The picture on their site sucks...as does most of the information on their site does.

I cant see how anyone would want to pay money for this gadget.
Unless of course, you have money to burn.

Well its portable, cools in under 5min... I could see myself adding it to my shelf of waisted money  I have some lots, that I cant move a car to the shade in summer. Covering with a towel takes to long. Cooling with the AC takes to long etc. If it works as well as posted, the time savings would be welcome.
But hey thats why I'm asking! I figure $100 tops would be worth a gamble, $300 hell I wanta know its the next best thing since sliced bread in the morning! :D

I bought a pump operated mister ar Costco for $15.
It puts out a very fine spray of water. I have only had to use it a couple of times. Just cover the chip with a chip saver first to keep it dry.

add some alcohol to the mist and you dont have to use as much and of course if you are working in weather where it 100 deg the water from your sprayer is the same temp so the alcohol cools better I can undestand mfgs looking to make a few more sales but some of the gadgets they come up with are pure Ronco LOL

I previously noticed that thing. Looks like a Misty Maid to me. Misty Maid, a CA based company used to offer a range of misters, they worked fine. We used to use their misters for glass scratch removal. I just did a Google search without any positive results -they may have stopped doing business. I will look for the company details in our office. Indeed, use a mister like Misty Mate, add alcohol to the mist....there you go, you got yourself a similar thing -under $300

Frank, was that the setup, I think it was Glasweld used mounted to their buffer? Do you have any of those mounting brackets around? Again it was something I thought looked good but found way over priced. If you have any used ones around, I might be interested.
Thanks

Jonnygues, I just returned home from my 'saturday round' and realized during the day that I spelled the name wrong to begin with, causing some people probably got lost in their attempt to find information. It should be Misty Mate. We used to do some business with them in the past, nice people and the good news is; they deal direct. Here's a link to their web site....http://www.mistymate.com/category-s/76.htm A 10 oz pump starts at only $14,99 Now that price is ''different'' to say at the least eh? Check it out.

Jonnygues, please add this info to the above post..... yes, we have some available, but if you look at the price for a new piece at the Misty Mate web site, it is not effecient to ship the stuff over from Europe to Canada eh? By the way; we use the 16 oz De Luxe ($34,99 each). Use a large suction cup to keep the sprayer in position and your good to go with a pretty much similar thing. Delta Kits offer large suction cups as you probably know.

Hey Frank, Glad to see those Canadian English lessons are paying off eh, you hoser!, Remember its "Zid" NOT Zeeeeeee now pass me a beer!

I was referring to the clamp and spray nozzle (wasn't there a push button valve?)that went in it , that mounted on the Jepson Buffer. I knew the bottle was just a Misty Mate. I was wondering if you had old one around.
