Hello all-
Wondering if anyone on the board has any experience restoring ragtop rear windows. We have been asked a few times from our carwash customers. I assume we're talking about the heavy vinyl material. Haven't found many products specifically stating they are good at cleaning vinyl windows.

when its dead its dead the plastic drys out and isnt that expensive to replace in most cases
Re: Ragtop window repair
Don't replace it, restore it with Novus plastic polish. It's the best I've found.

Re: Ragtop window repair
some are glass more are vinyl you cant really polish vinyl its soft and all the ones I have seen in my 27 yrs in the car buisness that are vinyl have been dried out and brittle really no way to repair or polish some zip out others are sewn into the top these are harder to replace cheaply
Re: Ragtop window repair
Well obviously if it's deteriorated beyond repair it has to be replaced. That's pretty easy to figure out. But I've used Novus plastic polish on some really aged polymer products with fantastic results, including some very yellowed old ragtop rear windows.
Re: Ragtop window repair
And you can buy it as a 3 stage kit but for soft products you can get great results using #2 polish as it is less abrasive.
