HI fishing1,

Welcome to the windshield repair forum! On the forum you will find an abundance of information and very valuable tips. I know that watching a training video and reading a manual can sound scary but repairing a windshield is a fairly simple process. In my opinion, nothing can substitute for hands-on training and that is one of main reasons why Delta Kits offers free training and certification courses. I would like to invite you to beautiful Eugene, Oregon at your earliest convenience to attend a training class and get some hands-on experience.

The repair part is pretty easy to learn I really do believe a chimp could be taught the basics and with a little salesmanship and basic business skills it is possible to earn a good living here

Funny you mention that. There is a chimp that does repairs at an oil and lube outlet right here in Oklahoma City! lol

Ask a local installer for a used windshield - order a chip maker from Delta "rubberband with a ball bearing on it" and go to town after 30-40 repairs you'll see its simple - but as all things the more you do the better you get 12 yrs and im still learning/seeing new things/methods !
p.s. centerpunches work great also ! Jm

The practice windshield will certainly help but i would still try to get a wrecking yard to let you work on the wrecks you get many different breaks of different ages and contamination also working on a car is different than working on a nice clean piece of glass in your garage :o
