Where are you? and how far are you prepared to travel and spend? Your lack of information gives us very little room to offer advice.

The training you recieve with someone like Delta is all you need from there you need to practice myself I talked to the local wrecking yard and spent several days doing repairs on the wrecks once I had about 100 repairs under my belt I went to work

I believe that practice makes perfect but at the same time repetition of same action will develop into habit. Therefore, I would get in contact with a local glass shop or salvage yard and get some glass to practice on, so you will feel comfortable when you go out into the field and repair a windshield.

If you can not make it to Oregon, it may be a better option to see Delta Kits in Florida in January as that would be your closest bet for factory training. If those options do not fit your schedule and you can not find someone reputable in your local area. You can always come visit me in PA for some one on one hands on training. Congratulations on your new business and best of chips! If you have any questions just give me a hollar, I would be glad to help.

I was just wondering if new people could be provided with a phone # of someone willing to help talk them through a difficult repair? This would be after they had gone through some kind of training. I think we could get volunteers to do this. I know delta does this but I expect sometimes people need help when no one is around at delta or another WSR supplier for that matter. I've done a lot of chips on Sundays and holiday weekends.

A stable of different people might let a newbie pick the person he best connects with or maybe get more than one opinion on how to do something. I'm only thinking of the times when someone looks at a break and thinks, "How the heck am I supposed to do that?" Not for people to call you four times a day to direct them on every break. I think this would be nice if there wasn't a lot of abuse of it.

Hey fishing1, I live in the metro New Orleans area. I mention this as I too want to attend training. Today, I signed up for the Delta training school in Arlington Texas which will be held on Feb. 18, 2009. Much closer than Florida for me and I believe you too. Just a thought.
