Big Welshman, we are a truly repair only business, we offer mobile service only -no workshops. We have people working with us in countries like The Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Scandinavia. In adition to repairing windscreens we repair plate glass -in a pretty high amount I would say. The headlight lens repair service is not that exiting over here, in fact it is far from what it is in the USA. We have the system in our warehouse, training room and service trucks, but the demand is not big. The lenses in Europe do not yellow all that bad as they do at your end. For windshield repair.....that demand is pretty much the same. The insurance conditions are good, but things are changing. The WSR business has always been very good to many of us, although the market is dominated by that awfull company called Belron (not a complaint, just a fact). Unfortunately things are getting dirty because ''networks'' (similar to Lynx etc.) are moving in and claim their spot, also more and more insurance companies are blinded by ''one stop shop'' vendors, and the steering is just bad. Replacement companies just play the same cards all over the world. Slick marketing, un-transparent deals with fleet mangers and insurance companies, useless (Veritas like) ''quality'' certificates, all to impress the market. Yet the fact is that they have a vast interest in selling glass, most of their repairs look just bad -I am very diplomatic here. There certainly is a living in doing just windshield repairs, we indeed looked at aditional services but decided to stick to be a glass repair service, we do see the market for services like PDR, but we just do not want to be involved in that -yet. The weather is not all that bad, we have rain and sunshine all year round, a humid climate, winters are not as tough and cold like they used to be when I was younger -so that's is a good thing. No matter where people live, Arizona, Ontario, Spain or Scandinavia, the locals are used to the conditions and they will do their job, people are flexible, no matter the circumstances.
