Hey everyone,
I just had to tell as story of something I saw today. I was out trying to sell a windshield repair, and the guy had 2 chips in his windshield with chip savers over them. I asked them who had given them to him.... he said had put them on his windshield the last time he was in their shop. Not so bad huh, well when I looked closely at the windshield the chip savers where on the INSIDE of the windshield. HUH????????? You goto be kidding me, how the heck can a chip saver do you any good on the inside of windshield. Man whoever put that on his vehicle should just get out of the repair field.

Maybe that was so that when it rains, it doesn't leak on to his dash?

Hey Brian,
Do me a favor if you can post a picture of what they tried to repair. I am curious, I wish they would improve their trainning program. Wait, if they even had one that would be a plus.

I have had clients put the chip savers on the inside, but have never seen them put there by a (so-called?) repair person. About a year ago, I had a fella call me to do a repair, and noticed something strange looking on the inside of the glass ... it was clear nail poilish... because somebody told him it would stop it from cracking. It was really difficult to keep from laughing out loud. I was very happy, though, that he hadnt put any on the outside.

Really makes you wonder sometimes. If this is our education system at work we are doomed.

Those things are supposed to go on the outside of the windshield, over the damaged area :?:

I've been telling my clients that when they get a new chip/crack, they are to peel off a chipsaver and place it on their calendar to remind them to schedule a repair appointment

What's so funny?

You mean they're NOT supposed to go on the inside?

What good is an ol chip anyway? Somehow I missed the boat, I didn't know chips were worth saving- Coitster only trained me to fix em!
