How many drops of resin in?

Post by bullseyeben »

I use a delta kits system. I am burning through my premium bond resin. How many drops should it take for a simple star break?

10 repairs has been a third of a bottle.

Are you using glass or plastic bottles? Delta Kits recommends that technicians use the glass bottles with our system because the dropper eliminates excess resin from being wasted and it puts the resin right where you need it (on the end-seal). Below is a video detailing how much resin to use.

Sorry I was not thinking.
I am using the magnibond resin, just like in the video. I am using the plasic eye dropper that came with it when i ordered it. It is in the brown glass bottle. i wish the dropper had a line on it to show where seven drops is. I usually fill the dropper about 1/3 of the way and squirt that into the injector. I know it is too much because I do get a lot of excess resin when doing the vacuum cycle that comes up through the system and settles inthe top of the injector, hence the previous post I had about hardened resin in the top of the cylinder.

Bullseyeben,

T4K is correct! Typically 7 drops or fill it to the first bend of the dropper.

The larger the void the more resin you may need!

Hope this helps.

Why don't you just practice filling the dropper with WATER and then count the drops as they come out when you squeeze the rubber bulb?

My guess would 709 drops?
My point is there is no number.
With experience you learn how much resin you need for each break a big bull needs a bunch more than a small bat you look at the thing and decide

Mmm....maybe he does not have the experience yet, therefore he is asking how much to use?

So we should just give him some random number rather than the real answer which is the more you practice you will get a feel of what is needed and until then you may waste a little resin? :?

I simply gave him the number of drops Delta recommends, being he is using their equipment. Maybe as you stated "709 is a good random number" for him to start with  .
