what i did

Hi Everybody,
I have been repairing a fleet account for a flat fee of $20 per repair. Should I have been adding extra for tax purposes. I live in NJ and I'm not sure if I need to be collecting sales tax for repairs that I do. I'm not selling anything but my services of repairing their windshield. I would appreciate any and all input.

Thanks,

Wanna know the easiest way rather then calling up sixteen government agencies, Ralph?

Call up a Safelite shop in your area, tell them you think you need a repair, ask them how much they charge, then ask them if that includes sales tax.

Make sure it's Safelite you call, though.

Arizona doesn't charge tax on service; only tax on materiels. Some states do and some don't.

I'm curious. Are you talking $20 per REPAIR on the same fleet vehicle or $20 per VEHICLE regardless of the number of repairs?
