Finding Fleet Accounts
Finding Fleet Accounts
Hey everyone,
I getting back into the business after working with another guy for a while. All we did was insurance work but I want to get into fleet accounts. How does one go about doing that?

Re: Finding Fleet Accounts
Finding fleet accounts is surprisingly easy! most that I walk into have never even had the service offered to them before, and they want it trust me. It works great to just walk in the front door, the hardest part is getting past the secretary and finding the right person to talk to...
Re: Finding Fleet Accounts
Ok...so do you guys sign service contracts with these businesses or is it just a handshake and a promise?
Re: Finding Fleet Accounts
I have never signed a contract with anyone. I also run a pressure washing business as well and do work with similar fleet accounts and have never had the need. All has worked out just fine and were going on 5 years here soon.

I also would have to agree that face to face or cold calling is the best and most cost effective method. As a small, part time independant I just do not have the budget to do a massive marketing campaign or even smaller advertising avenues consistantly to reach potential accounts. I also do not have the time to deal with the potential interest from a 24-7 format that traditional advertising provides. Face to face costs you a little gas, time, effort and a few rejection bumps as not everyone will be receptive. Plus you can control how slow or fast you want to propect new clients. Just my thoughts...

Yeah I'm going to have to focus on cold calling for a while to build up some business. I've got zero dollars right now so I'm going to have to rely on knocking on doors and shaking hands.SGT wrote:I also would have to agree that face to face or cold calling is the best and most cost effective method. Dont just go in and talk to them before you have walked thier cars/trucks that way when you talk to them you can say you saw ?many chips on the lot and give them a great price for the bunch I find most will do it now if the damage is brought to thier attention once you are in come by every so often and do the same thing

Also helps if you identify the value of the car ie that £30/$50 grand Range Rover has a BUSTED windscreen/windshield

Re: Finding Fleet Accounts
We use a form which we call our " Windshield Damage Report" These are 2 copy.
Basically we land a face to face meeting via telephone. During this we offer our NO OBLIGATION, FREE WINDSHIELD DAMAGE REPORT which itemized each damaged W/S and that units fleet # if available.
We also always grabs a business card which almost always has their email on it and we email photos of the damage we discovered. Now they have a hard copy and a virtual copy as well.
Just a thought!
